At American Estate & Trust (AET), we strive to make the process of managing your Self-Directed IRA (SDIRA) as transparent and easy to navigate as possible. To help you stay updated on the status of various requests, such as Direction of Investment (DOI) submissions, signing requests, transfer requests, asset valuations, and more, you can easily check the progress of your request via the Online Portal.
1. Direction of Investment (DOI) Requests
You can track the status of your DOI requests in the DOI Section of the Online Portal. Here are the possible statuses for DOIs:
- Draft: The investment is in the initial stage and has not yet been submitted for processing.
- In Process: The investment is currently being processed.
- Compliance Review: The investment is under review to ensure it complies with IRS guidelines and AET’s internal policies.
- Rejected for Compliance: The investment does not meet compliance standards. A notification will be sent with detailed notes outlining the issues that must be addressed.
- On Hold for Correction: The investment requires corrective action. The Operations department will enter corrective notes in the investment's notes section, which you can view in the Online Portal. You can make corrections accordingly or contact AET Support for clarification.
- On Hold for Funds: The investment cannot proceed until the required funds are available in the account.
- On Hold for Account Issues: The investment is on hold due to account-related issues that must be resolved, such as missing documentation or outstanding compliance requirements.
- Cancelled: The investment was canceled by either the client or AET. No further action will be taken.
- Completed: The investment has been successfully processed and finalized. No further steps are needed.
Once a DOI request has been successfully processed, it will no longer appear in the DOI Section, as the transaction has been added to the ledger.
2. Signing Requests
- Open Request: If you have a signing request that is still pending, it will show as Open in the Signing Requests Section of the Online Portal.
- Completed or Rejected: Once the signing request is completed or rejected, you can still view it in the same section.
3. Transfer In Requests
- Status Updates: For Transfer In requests, the status will initially be set to Request Sent after the transfer form has been accepted and the transfer request is initiated.
- Other Transfer In Statuses:
- On Hold for Correction: The request requires further action.
- Canceled: The request was canceled by the client or AET.
- Rejected: The request was not approved.
- Partially Received: Some but not all assets have been transferred.
- Completed: The transfer has been fully processed.
You can view the current status of your Transfer In request in the Transfer Requests Section of the Online Portal.
4. Transfer Out Requests
- Successful Transfer Out: If your Transfer Out request has been processed successfully, and the transfer results in your account closure, you will no longer have access to the Online Portal.
5. Asset Valuations
- Valuation Status: You can confirm the status of your asset valuation request in the Asset Valuation Section of the Online Portal. If your valuation has been successfully processed, it will show as complete.
6. Account Closure Requests
- Status of Account Closure: If you have submitted a request for account closure, the status of the request will be available in the Online Portal until the transfer out is processed. Once processed, you will no longer have access to the portal.
7. How to Check Status
To check the status of any request:
- Log in to the Online Portal: Go to the portal using your credentials.
- Navigate to the Relevant Section: Depending on the type of request (DOI, Signing, Transfer, etc.), go to the corresponding section in the portal.
- View the Status: Each request will have a status that reflects its progress. If you do not see your request listed, it has been processed and may no longer be visible.
