At American Estate & Trust (AET), we understand that the investment process can sometimes be confusing, especially when it comes to managing a Self-Directed IRA (SDIRA). If your Direction of Investment (DOI) request has been placed On Hold for Correction, it means there is some information that requires clarification or additional documentation to comply with IRS rules. These issues could range from missing documents to incorrect data such as funding amounts or vendor names. Our goal is to help you navigate this process as smoothly as possible.
Here’s how to make corrections to your active DOI via the Online Portal:
To Upload Documents to Your Active DOI:
- Login to the Online Portal.
- Navigate to the Invest (DOI) tab.
- Find your open DOI, which will indicate On Hold for Corrections.
- Click the three dots on the right of your DOI and select See DOI Details.
- Make any necessary corrections to your DOI per the notes, including updating documents or details.
- Click Choose File to find and upload any required documents.
- Once the corrections are made and documents uploaded, click Next to submit the updates for review.
To Edit the Details of Your Active DOI:
- Login to the Online Portal.
- Navigate to the Invest (DOI) tab.
- Find your open DOI, which will indicate On Hold for Corrections.
- Click the three dots to the right of your DOI and select Edit.
- Make necessary corrections to the information, such as vendor names, funding amounts, or any other fields.
- Click Review to verify your updates.
- Finally, click Submit to send your corrected DOI for review.
Once the corrections or additional documents are submitted, they will be reviewed by our compliance team within 3-5 business days. If everything is in order, your DOI will be processed and funded.
If you need further assistance or have questions about the corrections needed for your DOI, feel free to contact our support team. We're here to guide you through every step of the process!
